After Magnifier is launched, a small window appears in the center of the screen that displays some basic options within Magnifier, such as controls that increase and decrease the viewable area and modify the available views. Unless one of these options is accessed within three seconds, the basic options window will be automatically replaced by an image of a small, partially transparent magnifying glass. Minimizing the magnifier removes this image from view while preserving the level of magnification and any other changes that you've made. The advantage to the partially transparent magnifying glass is that it allows immediate access to the basic options within Magnifier using the mouse. For those of you who prefer mouse commands over shortcut keys, this can be convenient. Visit the Magnifier keyboard shortcuts webpage for a list of shortcut commands. Use built-in logos and fonts Reveal files and folders in Finder 1. To bring to your Mac the same simple yet powerful photo management experience that we're all used to on the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, not only in functionality but also in terminology - Photos understands HDR, for example, and applies an icon label to each to the HDR versions of your snapshots. And to bring to your Mac iCloud Photo Library, which syncs your snapshots harmoniously and invisibly via the cloud. Download Chat Editing Extensions

Here's another tip: If you've been a Mac user for some time and at one point migrated to the Photos app from iPhoto or Aperture (or both applications), you may find that there are files created by Aperture and iPhoto still lurking on your Mac. Both those apps stored their libraries in a single file, located in Pictures in your user directory.
Video calls require a built-in FaceTime camera, an iSight camera (built-in or external), or a USB video class (UVC) camera; and broadband Internet connection.
Open Safari. Click on Safari > Preferences > Advanced and enable the Develop menu.
Image Capture is one of OS X’s best kept secrets. This photo-savvy program, which lives in your Applications folder, may not have iPhoto’s beautiful interface, nor its vast feature set. But it does a great job of grabbing a quick shot and performing complex actions without having to first add the images to iPhoto’s library. And in Snow Leopard, Apple completely overhauled Image Capture to make it even more useful.
Click Crop button. This will remove all parts of the image that are outside of the rectangular selection.
